Group Air Travel Discounts
Groups wanting to travel via commercial air in March of 2010 may be in luck. Due to a unique combination of business travel cutbacks and temporarily low fuel prices, now may be the best opportunity to book reasonable air travel for groups.
For Director’s Choice Tour & Travel, our primary travel season begins each year in the second week of March. Since major airlines accept bookings 330 days prior to the final flight segment, we are just about to begin contracting air for our 2010 groups.
Fuel prices (today) are about $1.30 per gallon LESS than they were one year ago. Additionally, many corporations have greatly reduced or eliminated travel budgets, resulting in a supply of seats that greatly surpasses the current demand. While it is inevitable that airlines will continue to cut flights and routes to reduce demand and increase fares, the prices available for the moment are the best I have seen in 2-3 years.
So…
Book now. Deposit Now. Make plans to travel in March of 2010! It is likely that air prices will increase dramatically as oil prices rise over the next 2 months, so the difference of traveling in March vs. June could be massive.
